Welcome to ROSA INCAICA's website!
ROSA INCAICA (a name alluding to the sacred stone of the Incas), originally the Inca Rose Duo, is the confluence of the work of soprano Annelise Skovmand and guitarist Pablo González Jazey and is dedicated to building cross-cultural understanding through music. For almost two decades they have worked together, selecting music that bridges classical with popular music expressions. It is the “song," the marriage between text and music that makes up the repertoire of this distinctive multi-cultural duo with its unique acoustic sound and original arrangements.
Pablo grew up in the Northwest province of Argentina where Argentine folk music is part of everyday life. His music world burst open when he secretly discovered the Beatles on his father's record player during siesta-time. From that moment, he wanted to decipher what he heard and be able to perform those miraculous sounds on the guitar. This search led him to travel the world studying the classical guitar, performing the standard classical repertoire, without losing contact with his roots in Argentina.
Annelise, daughter of a Danish immigrant and a redhead from the Mid-West of the United States, grew up dreaming of the operatic stage. She started taking voice lessons at the young age of nine with a caring voice teacher from Paris in Sarasota, Florida. Her studies carried her to the Boston Conservatory where she shaped her voice with contemporary music premieres, chamber music concerts and recitals of great Art Songs.
The paths of these two musicians crossed in Boston and from there they began their quest to perform songs that speak to the soul and to highlight the stories behind the texts. For ROSA INCAICA, there is not just one genre of music -- only great quality music that touches people’s hearts. Performing a fusion of classical music with popular and ethnic traditions, they combine the discipline and technique of the classical music world with the spirit and freedom of folk and popular music.

ROSA INCAICA, nombre que alude a la piedra sagrada de los Incas, es la confluencia del trabajo de la soprano Annelise Skovmand y el guitarrista Pablo González Jazey que se dedica a construir la comprensión intercultural a través de la música. Han trabajado juntos por casi dos décadas, seleccionando música que combina lo académico con expresiones de la música popular. La "canción", matrimonio entre letra y música, compone el repertorio de este distintivo dúo multicultural con un sonido acústico único y arreglos originales.
Pablo nacido en Tucumán, provincia del noroeste de la Argentina, donde la música folclórica argentina forma parte de la vida cotidiana. Su mundo musical estalló cuando descubrió a los Beatles en el tocadiscos de su padre durante la hora de la siesta. A partir de ese momento, quería descifrar lo que había oído y ser capaz de realizar esos sonidos milagrosos en la guitarra. Esta búsqueda le llevó a viajar por el mundo estudiando la guitarra clásica, interpretando el repertorio clásico tradicional, sin perder el contacto con sus raíces en Argentina.
Annelise, hija de un inmigrante danés y una pelirroja de los estados centrales de los Estados Unidos, creció soñando con el escenario operístico. Empezó a tomar clases de canto a los nueve años en Sarasota, Florida con una profesora de canto que provenía de París. Sus estudios la llevaron al Conservatorio de Boston donde desarrolló su voz con estrenos de música contemporánea, conciertos de música de cámara y recitales de Lieder (canciones de cámara).
Los caminos de estos dos músicos cruzaron en Boston y desde allí comenzaron su búsqueda para realizar canciones que hablan al alma y para destacar las historias detrás de los textos. Para ROSA INCAICA, no hay un solo género de música: sólo música de gran calidad que toca el corazón de la gente. Realizando una fusión de música clásica con tradiciones populares y étnicas, combinan la disciplina y la técnica del mundo de la música clásica con el espíritu y la libertad de la música folclórica y popular.
